Monterey baseball coach reveals retirement

LUBBOCK, Texas ( PRESS RELEASE) – After more than thirty years of mentor and training, Monterey High School Head Baseball Coach Kent Meador revealed his retirement today. Coach Meador’s retirement includes his resignation efficient at the end of the 2021-2022 academic year.

He has actually led the Plainsmen baseball program because 2009, making playoff looks each year because he started. Prior to taking control of as the head coach at Monterey, he led baseball groups to one state semi-final, 3 local finals, and 9 bi-district finals. He was called the district coach of the year 5 times and was the Houston Location Coach of the Year in 2005.

A 1983 graduate of Coronado High School, Meador played college baseball at Point Loma College in San Diego, California, prior to moving to Texas Tech to complete his college profession. His head training stops consist of Amarillo Tascosa, Westfield High School in Spring, Texas, and Klein Collins High School prior to coming house to Lubbock in 2009.
